The Women’s Leadership Course is an initiative of Multicultural SA in partnership with the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission and TAFESA. It is funded by Multicultural SA and subsidised by the Department of State Development. Both courses are free-of-charge for successful applicants.
Program 1: Women’s Leadership Course
We are now calling for Expressions of Interest for the women’s leadership course, aimed at women who are already in – or are well placed to be in – leadership or supervisory roles within their workplace or community organisation. Women applying for this course may aspire to join governance boards and committees, but require additional training with a management focus to do so. Participants graduate with a Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
The course will be delivered over a 10 month period, beginning 17 October 2014. Applicants must be committed to completing the course by attending weekly 3.5 hour classroom sessions on Friday mornings at the Adelaide City Campus of TAFESA.
Applicants should be:
- Employed (either full or part time) and/or highly involved in a community organisation
- Proficient in verbal and written English, and be bicultural or bilingual.
Expression of Interest Forms must be sent to Multicultural SA by 26 September 2014
Program 2: Women’s Introductory Leadership Skills Course
In 2015, we will also offer an entry level course in introductory leadership skills, for women aspiring to increase their knowledge of work environments, further study and community activities. The course focuses on confidence building and developing a range of skills commonly sought by employers and community organisations. Participants graduate with a Certificate III in Women’s Education.
The course will be held over 12+ months at the Adelaide City Campus of TAFESA, beginning in February 2015. All applicants will be invited to an information session, to be held in late 2014.
Applicants should be:
- Willing to pass on skills and knowledge to other women
- Proficient in verbal and written English, and be bicultural or bilingual
Expression of Interest Forms must be sent to Multicultural SA by 21 November 2014
