An open competitive grants funding round for the expansion of the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) under the Living Longer Living Better aged care reforms is now open. The application period will close at 2:00 pm on Friday 5 April 2013.
As part of the Living Longer Living Better aged care reform package announced in April 2012, the Australian Government will provide $19 million from 2013-2016 to expand the CVS.
Funding will expand the scope of the CVS to include visits to people receiving assistance through Home Care packages as well as group visits in residential aged care.
As part of the expansion, the CVS will leverage off new technology in Home Care environments and target people with special needs including Care-Leavers (including Forgotten Australians, Former Child Migrants and Stolen Generations), people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people.
Successful applicants will be offered funding agreements for up to three years, from 1 July 2013.
