This session will cover important aspects of food safety and infection control issues for CHSP programs who provide care to the frail aged.
Learning outcomes:
Food safety:
demonstrate understanding of the food handling fundamentals – how to
Maintain legal obligations and personal hygiene
Control the time and temperature of potentially dangerous foods
Conduct good food handling practices
Infection control:
Increased awareness and understandings of infection control fundamentals
Increased understanding of how to maintain legal obligations and personal hygiene
Improved capacity to apply transmission-based precautions – PPE in healthcare
Improved access to practical resources and tools to develop good infection control practices
