You are invited to the PICAC Workshop Series. The workshops focus on key topics relevant to the quality person-centred care provision. Carers, consumers as well as health and aged care practitioners are welcome to attend.
This session will explore a concept of Cultural Competency in Aged Care – through effective communication in culturally diverse settings to providing culturally appropriate care to happy customers.
Care services are being transformed into consumer driven market places, where consumers choose where they receive their care services, who from and hence where money is spent. Choices are made based on the relevancy, accessibility and quality of services available. We know that diverse cultural backgrounds, languages and faiths have a profound impact on our experiences, on our expectations and on our choices.
The workshop will explore how to transform your organisation to be open and responsive to cultural diversity and ensure increased relevancy, greater accessibility and higher levels of service quality for all potential service users.
The workshop will cover how to:
- Build your team’s enthusiasm and capacity to relate to diversity and work effectively across cultures.
- Embrace the subtle shift from being compliance driven to being consumer focused.
- Explore strategies, supports and resources to enable CQ integration.
Who should attend? This workshop is designed for managers, operational team leaders and staff.

Course cancellations: Multicultural Aged Care reserves the right to cancel events if sufficient numbers are not achieved. In the case of a cancellation by Multicultural Aged Care all registration fees will be refunded in full.
Registration transfer or cancellation: Notification of cancellation or transfer of registration must be provided in writing either by fax 8352 1266 or email email@example.com. No refund is available for any cancellations/transfers received 48 hours or less prior to the start date or for non-attendance. A substitute delegate or a credit transfer is welcome. Please notify Multicultural Aged Care in writing of any substitution or credit transfer as soon as possible.
