Culture in Ageing (CIA) workshop: ‘Health and Wellbeing: Valuing ourselves and our peers’

23 November @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”  World Health Organisation

Health and Wellbeing

  • What does it really mean?
  • Does it matter?
  • How does it impact you?
  • What compromises wellness?
  • What does it mean for your aged care clients?
  • What happens when the concept of health and wellbeing of your client ‘collides’ with yours?
  • What have been the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on those working on the front line?

In this workshop we will unpack the holistic and multi-dimensions of health and wellbeing; how they are interconnected and the pursuit of balance between them. We will discover the dynamic process of change and growth resulting in not just surviving but, thriving in both personal and work life.

We will hear real-life accounts of what and how culture effects the delicate balance of wellbeing between clients and aged care staff and how the COVID-19 pandemic has permeated throughout all aspects of care, creating challenging times of stress and uncertainty.

The day will include resources, hint sheets and activities of exploration and learnings.

Presenters: Vicki Kanakaris & Agnieszka Chudecka

Morning tea and Lunch will be provided

Parking is not available.
