An opportunity not to be missed – learnings and information from the recent international dementia conference in Melbourne and more…

27 June 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Can you see people living with dementia and their carers around you, in your family, in community, amongst your clients?

Some recent statistics on dementia in Australia include:

  • Nearly 1 in 10 Australians aged 65 and over had dementia in 2016
  • 354,000 Australians were estimated to have dementia in 2016
  • 11,000 deaths per year are due to dementia—it is the second leading cause of death in Australia
  • 43% of people with dementia are aged 85 and over
  • 52%of people in permanent residential aged care have dementia

Have you been thinking about dementia and wellness?

Do you want to know more about dementia, supporting people with dementia and their carers and  improving their quality of life? What could be useful? To you or your organisation? An update on current developments? Current statistics, strategies, tools and resources?

Have you reflections to share, questions and queries to discuss?

Have you been thinking about dementia and wellness through a culturally and linguistically diverse lens?

Have you been reflecting on how clients with dementia are being cared for? How can your organisation better support the carers?

Are you aware that Agnieszka is studying Dementia Care? Australia’s first degree specifically focused on dementia at the Australian Centre of Excellence in Dementia Research – University of Tasmania, WICKING Dementia Research & Education Centre.

Recently returned from an international conference, Agnieszka will be providing the latest updates in Dementia Care, and sharing her learnings from her studies and the conference.

You are invited to take part in an information and training session along side of MAC staff and take advantage of a more intimate setting for an interactive session on dementia care.

See you there.
