Elder Abuse – CALD Perspectives “Unpacking uncharted ground”

An innovative workshofor generalist organisations and CALD  workers in understanding what is Elder Abuse and to explore the complexities around Elder Abuse and/or neglect from a CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) perspective.

To identify, develop knowledge and how best to respond in a culturally appropriate manner when dealing with the mistreatment of older people from CALD community groups.

This workshop is ideally suited to Managers, Staff, Generalist Organisations and Aged Care Workers in both residential and community care.

Nina is the sole director of NTT Consultancy Pty Ltd. With 30 years of experience ranging from direct service provision to executive positions in the Australian aged care sector, Nina has the professional capability and is well placed to advice on a range of practical operational support for emerging aged care workers and business entrepreneurs. Complementing this experience are her qualifications, which include a degree in social science/social work and certificate in training and assessment.

Having worked as an advocate in promoting the rights of older people, Nina is a staunch supporter of ensuring that older people are respected, have rights and life choices. Her position as an advocate provided her with solid knowledge of elder abuse and the mistreatment of older people in Australia and internationally.

Course cancellations: Multicultural Aged Care reserves the right to cancel events if sufficient numbers are not achieved. In the case of a cancellation by Multicultural Aged Care all registration fees will be refunded in full.

Registration transfer or cancellation: Notification of cancellation or transfer of registration must be provided in writing either by fax 8352 1266 or email registration@mac.org.au. No refund is available for any cancellations/transfers received 48 hours or less prior to the start date or for non-attendance. A substitute delegate or a credit transfer is welcome. Please notify Multicultural Aged Care in writing of any substitution or credit transfer as soon as possible.
