The past year has seen some significant changes in the Aged Care sector, and particularly in community and home support services for CALD older people; the introduction of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP); My Aged Care; Regional Assessment Service (RAS), to name a few .

Multicultural Ageing Services (MAS) is a business unit of Multicultural Aged Care (MAC). Keeping pace with our changing environment, MAC has consolidated and streamlined our core business into divisions which have been successfully embraced and gained momentum throughout 2015;

  1. Multicultural Ageing Services (MAS)
  2. Multicultural Learning and Development (MLD)
  3. Multicultural Hub

An exciting time of further growth and development has been planned for 2016 within all the four divisions, so watch this space!

One aspect of the MAS work is the partnership arrangements between MAC and with smaller CALD community groups who have joined with MAS to continue to deliver their community support programs to their respective CALD elderly community members. With the changes to be implemented with the CHSP, the government ‘Wellness and Reablement’ approaches, and the launch of My Aged Care in 2015, a number of the CALD HACC service providers entered into discussions with MAC seeking advice and support to continue delivering their community services.

Five small CALD community groups have entered into a working partnership with MAC’s MAS division. MAS will support and manage their CHSP administrative, reporting and quality infrastructures while simultaneously, their CALD community volunteer groups will continue to deliver the face to face services to their elderly CALD community members.

Stay tuned for future insights and progress into the other aspects of MAS at MAC!
