Culture in Ageing (CiA): ‘Live to Eat – Eat to Live? Does it make a difference?’

Culture in Ageing is designed to equip workers such as Lifestyle and Respite Coordinators, Community Care Workers, Activities Organisers in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACF) and Community Care with practical knowledge, skills and ideas to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of care recipients by providing culturally inclusive strategies.

The workshop will also provide the opportunity to network with other workers and CALD community groups, gain access to resources and information and contribute to the development of targeted cultural briefings.

This full-day workshop will include sessions on significance of food as social activity, culturally specific dishes and when they are served and eaten, reminiscing theory, the magic of sensory stimulation, the art of narrative, fun and fact-filled activities and much, much more.
